Peter Geer Trophy

It’s not about winning, it’s about the taking part” – Peter Geer

The Peter Geer Trophy was set up in memory of Peter Geer, an ex-3rd Ware Scout Leader, to encourage as many girls and boys in the local Scout Groups to join in with as many of the the activities on offer, with the emphasis on joining in, rather than winning. Beavers, Cubs and Scouts from all eight Scout Groups in the District take part each year.

The Peter Geer Trophy is awarded to the Scout Group that has had the largest percentage of its members to join in and participate in a variety of fun and sometimes challenging events over the last year. There are a huge variety of local District and County organised events for all the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts to take part in each year, 16 of which are counted towards the Peter Geer Competition. These events range from the Beavers Tug of War to the Cubs Go Karting Competition, Fun Runs and the Scouts’ Bowling, Camping and Cooking Competitions offering a wide range of fun activities, challenges and adventures for all the 6 – 14 year old girls and boys.

The Peter Geer Trophy is awarded at St. George’s Day each year.
