 Fund Raising For Disaster Victims

We are currently undertaking the Shelter Box Challenge Badge. The badge takes ten months to achieve with each month having a different theme. These include Global, Faith, Shelter, Water Conservation etc. The idea is to raise money for a shelter box as well helping towards other cub badges.
Shelter boxes have been used extensively in disaster zones such as the recent Haiti earthquake and quite literally help save lives and make conditions more tolerable for victims. The boxes which cost just under £500 each contain enough supplies to provide shelter and warmth for up to ten people for a sustained period of time. Included in the box are a high quality ten-person tent, ten sleeping bags and cooking stove and tools such as a spade and some rope.
We are hoping to do a sponsored bike ride in the summer and a scavenger hunt in June. We have already benefited from a shelter box fund donation from Riversmead Housing Association.

If you  would like to donate to 2nd Ware (and possibly enable them to fund not just one shelter box but two) please email Chris.
